UC Santa Cruz Students Block Chancellor From Leaving Meeting

Hat tip City on a Hill Press

"Whose campus?"
"Our campus!"

As I have often stated, UC Santa Cruz is "America's Wackiest University". So it was on January 13 when their figurehead chancellor, an empty suit named George Blumenthal, attended a Student Union Assembly meeting and subjected himself to their imagined "grievances" including tuition hikes. When he decided it was time to leave, the students blocked the exits until the campus police intervened enabling him to depart. No mention of any arrests.

I don't know if they have a law school up there at America's Wackiest University, but if you impede the freedom of movement of any individual, you can be subject to arrest. Some states consider it a form of kidnapping.

But why should there be any arrests? This is The Students' University of Santa Cruz, and it is clear who runs this institution. And it sure ain't George Blumenthal or the Campus Police.

Would you believe the campus was originally designed in emulation of Oxford University?
