Obama's Queen For a Day Hoax

You too can be invited to a State of the Union and sit next to the First Lady

If you watched the State of the Union Tuesday night, you certainly remember Rebekah Erler, the young lady seated in the gallery next to Michelle Obama. She was one of the latest props in that God awful practice of bringing in "common folks" who the president can point to in order to make some point.

"People like.........."

So Rebekah Erler was just another rube from the hinterlands who wrote to the President with her down on her luck story and whose fortunes have been turned around by the president's policies.

Right.

"America, Rebekah and Ben’s story is our story. They represent the millions who have worked hard, and scrimped, and sacrificed, and retooled. You are the reason I ran for this office. You’re the people I was thinking of six years ago today, in the darkest months of the crisis, when I stood on the steps of this Capitol and promised we would rebuild our economy on a new foundation."

Just one of many lies Obama told us Tuesday night.

And the Affordable Care Act is working! (I know from personal experience, but with so many millions to choose from, my chances of being asked to appear at the SOTU to tell my story are infinitesmally small. Still, its true, for me and millions of others.

In 2015, I'm pleased to say, a lot more insurance companies offered a wider variety of policies, including much broader networks of approved providers, and the option to get a policy with an HSA, which is what I wanted before the ACA was adopted. It allows me to keep a lower premium by saving my own money (pre-tax) to pay my share of medical costs. I think George W. Bush was the one who first proposed that.

Siarlys! You are still with us. I was afraid maybe the Affordable Care Act had failed.

If you get my drift.

No Gary, I've been busy moving out of my tiny studio apartment into a two-story rehab home that the city is ever so anxious to fill with a stable owner-occupant. I'm now going to pay my property taxes directly, rather than as a large chunk of the rent paid to my landlord. Now if I can just get the city to drop off a garbage can. And of course, I had to continue making a living while moving.

I must note that your column was getting a little boring back in late December, one anti-Islamic screed after another that seemed to be cut and paste. There must be something else going on in the world.

As to the ACA, the premiums are up a bit, but I have more freedom than ever before, and every sound conservative should approve of my HSA.
