Welcome to Opinion University (in Texas)

Hat tip Eagle Rising

If you happen to be going to South Texas College, here is what you can expect if you take Dr Blake Armstrong's psychology class. A heavy dose of opinion, one of which is comparing the Tea Party to the Nazi Party. My friends at Eagle Rising even have a video of this boob in the class. Once a student realize this professor was sliding off the charts, the cell phone came out.

Yes, Folks. In Armstrong's "psychology" class, you can learn all about those Tea Party death camps and the world war the Tea Party started.

OK, OK. He was comparing how Tea Party-supported politicians came to power with how the Nazis came to power in the "Reichstaeg" (SIC). That's pronounced by Armstrong like "hash-tag", which shows how much he knows about either party.  There is still no comparison. The Tea Party does not engage in beer hall brawls or street brawls with communists, nor do they beat up socialists or other assorted lefties. If you want violence, talk about the Occupy movement.

Psychology is a field with very limited validity (not none, but limited), and very expansive ambitions to explain everything about human behavior. Sorry, we're just a lot more complicated and have too many variables.

I can't imagine what any of this is doing in a psychology class, since there is no scientific basis to analyze what the Tea Party, the Communist Party, or much of any other political tendency stands for.

The Tea Party does not engage in beer hall brawls or street brawls with communists, nor do they beat up socialists or other assorted lefties.

There are some who talk about it. Whether the state of their movement, and of the country, will ever open up an opportunity to act on this sort of rhetoric remains conjectural.
