When President Obama went to Cairo during his first term, it was no mistake that he spoke at Al Azhar University. As he himself said, Al Azhar is the most prestigious university in the world when it comes to Islamic teaching. So should we raise our eyebrows when an Al Azhar professor makes anti-Jewish statements and actually quotes the Protocols of the Elders of Zion to buttress her vicious anti-Semitic views?

For those of you who don't know, the Protocols, which purported to expose a Jewish plot to take over the world, were exposed as a forgery concocted and spread by Russian tsarist forces over one hundred years ago. Unfortunately, the Arab world needs time to catch up with history as the Protocols is still widely believed and accepted as historical fact. For a professor at Al Azhar to quote this is akin to a Harvard professor who still believes in Santa Claus.
