Christmas Cheer in Cologne

-Carpe Diem

Hat tip Atlas Shrugs, Politically Incorrect News (in German) and Carpe Diem (in English)

City sidewalks busy sidewalks .
Dressed in holiday style
In the air
There's a feeling
of Christmas
Children laughing
People passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on every street corner you'll hear
Silver bells silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring a ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day

Atlas Shrugs has picked up an article from Politically Incorrect News blog of Germany that covers an event on November 30 in front of the  magnificent cathedral of Cologne (Koelner Dom).  Christmas shoppers are about, and a lighted Christmas tree adorns the area between the Dom and the Central Train Station.  In the below link, you can see four video clips. A German is speaking into a bullhorn and talking about the religious persecution of Christians in Muslim countries.

As the man continues, several young males voice their displeasure. Tempers flare. In the third video, a couple of young men are wrestled to the ground and arrested. At the end of the second video a microphone is smashed.

Well, here. You can see it for yourself.

This is just like previous videos of  similar events in Munich. The Europeans have had just about enough. Tensions can only rise.

Strings of street lights
Even stop lights
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush
home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch
See the kids bunch
This is Santa's big scene
And above all this bustle
You'll hear
Silver bells,
 va va voom
silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day
