Garden Grove Man Arrested on Charges of Aiding Al Qaeda

Sinh Vinh Ngo Nguyen, 24, was arrested yesterday by the FBI in Santa Ana as he was about to board a bus to Mexico. He is charged with attempting to aid and abet al Qaeda. (Isn't that what our government is doing in Syria?)

In response, the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California has issued the below statement.

What raises a question here is that Nguyen is from Garden Grove, California in Orange County.  I am wondering if he was attending the Islamic Center of Orange County mosque in Garden Grove, which is under Imam Muzammil Siddiqi, the former president of the Islamic Society of North America and head of the above Islamic Shura Council of Southern California. If so, Nguyen would not be the first person from that mosque to be charged with al Qaeda connections. Adam Gadahn, who is still a fugitive, also came out of that mosque.

Siddiqi and Islamic Center of Orange County

If Nguyen, in fact, attended the Islamic Center of Orange County, then how ironic would it be that the federal complaint against him bore the signature of the US Attorney for the Central District of California, Andre Birotte Jr.

The Creeping Sharia site seems to feel that Sinh Vinh Ngo Nguyen, also known as Hasan Abu Omar Ghannoum on his Facebook page may have belonged to the Garden Grove mosqu. They also cite that he was a member of the CAl. State Fullerton MSA.
