Eric Holder's Speech Before the Anti-Defamation Leauge

There is a lot of controversy over Attorney General Eric Holder's speech yesterday before the Anti-Defamation League. Much of his speech was devoting to warning that his department will crack down on any backlash against Muslims in the wake of the Boston bombing. Here is the complete text of his speech as released by the Justice  Department.

Just one problem, Mr Holder; there has been no backlash. CAIR in Boston reported that an unidentified man allegedly shouted slurs at a Muslim woman after the attack, but there have been no documented cases of assault or mosque vandalism since the attack. (Yes, I do question the veracity of any statement that comes out of CAIR.)

Holder could have dwelled on the statistics which show a dramatic increase in anti-Semitic incidents-numbers that dwarf any anti-Muslim incidents.

By all means, Justice should prosecute any hate crimes against Muslims that might arise. That does not include cracking down on free speech as Americans exercise their right to discuss why Muslims would carry out such acts. Those are legitimate points of discussion.

Instead of violating the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding American citizens via registration/banning schemes and talking about cracking down on Muslim backlash, how's about Obama's/Holder's Justice Dept. spending the time/resources more wisely by cracking down on violent gun crime, to include Muslims along with everybody else, with policies/procedures which are effective in reducing crime rather than those which are not, and which in fact tend to increase crime rates??

For the uninformed, last year there were something in excess of 1 million attempted firearms purchases through legitimate sources involving the instant background check. Of that total a fractional percentage (for Siarlys, those in Rio Linda, and UC Santa Cruz students, that means less than 1 per cent) of about 76,000 involved attempts by prohibited persons, each of whom committed one or several serious Federal felonies in the process. Straw purchases are also a Federal felony.

The further internal felony is that I understand less than 50 of those 76,000 were Federally prosecuted, with I believe no more than half of those receiving any real serious time. What a way to run a circus!!! With all the strong talk about protecting Muslims, I would just about bet $10.00 against a week-old Krispy Kreme donut that Holder does NOT seek the death penalty in the Boston bombings. Still got that crow tied out, but any takers?? Siarlys??
