Quote of the Day From Charlie Rangel

Hat tip Daniel Greenfield in Frontpage Magazine

Good old Charlie Rangel has stated that "millions of kids" are being gunned down by assault rifles.

"That's a big f******* deal."

Sorry, Charlie. Not even if you count Syria do those figures add up. Now if you are talking about abortions just here in the USA, your figures are spot on.

Is that what you really meant, Charlie?

Rangel demostrates his ignorance. We are in deep trouble when our government is populated with such idiots. All Rangel had to do is check the FBI data base to get the real story, or have his workers do it.

There was a best seller, years ago called, Innumeracy: Mathematical Illiteracy and its Consequences by mathematician John Allen Paulos. "Innumeracy," is a term he embraced to describe the mathematical equivalent of illiteracy—incompetence with numbers rather than words.

Mathematics illiteracy is an abstract term that refers, broadly, to an individual's ability to incorporate mathematical skills in a constructive, conscientious, and concerted manner into his or her life. More specifically, mathematics literacy requires an ability to identify and understand the role mathematics plays in the world and to utilize mathematics to make informed decisions.

Rangel shares this ah, ignorance with Oprah Winfrey as she declares a few days ago that
"I am confident in most things that don't require mathematical or technological skills. In those areas, I'm not just challenged — I'm functionally illiterate. I have actually had to call for help to get my TV turned on. (Input, schminput.),"

"On the other hand, when it comes to matters of the heart, emotion, connection, and speaking in front of large audiences, I thrive. A genuine vibrational thing happens between me and whoever I'm engaged with: I can feel them and sense that they are vibing right back with me."

Which once again is evidence that liberals are emotion driven. They are not sure about the numbers but they feel good about themselves and their policies.

The consequences of this stupidity can bankrupt the country but "they tried hard" and the real life consequences are not only not understood but forgiven.

What else but emotion (and free stuff) would convince more people than not that a demonstrably unqualified guy could be president. It made them feel good!

Who needs an understanding of whether it is "millions of kids" or "dozens of kids"? It is the intention that counts. sarc/

What does Oprah Winfrey has to do with liberals? You just made a quantum leap that doesn't compute.

Is Oprah not a liberal then?? She is most certainly not a conservative. She appears to share a lot of math illiteracy with many/most other libs/Dems when it comes to stuff
like guns, dope, budgets/deficits/debt, Social Security, etc.
