Jay Carney Says

As President Obama is off campaigning again appearing before backdrops of cops, doctors, lawyers and Indian chiefs talking about how the Republicans must prevent sequestration from kicking in, some dare say that it was he who came up with the idea in the first place. It was he who pushed Congress on a bi-partisan level to support this monster.  Now here we are again, everybody in Washington running around like chickens with their heads cut off because the date is fast approaching when it kicks in. If that's not bad enough, Obama et al are calling writer Bob Woodward a liar because he has quoted Obama taking ownership of it in his book.  Obama said during one of the presidential debates that the sequester "was not something that I've proposed. Congress proposed it." Woodward takes issue with that.

Then there is the question of whether Obama and his boys moved the goal posts by adding on tax hikes-or were they in the original plan?

And in the middle of all this is the ever-hapless Jay Carney, who has to answer all the questions from the White House press corps. He is in attack mode against Woodward. But here is what he said to Fox's Bret Baier on February 12:

So which is it, Jay?

Republicans have yet to learn, you get what you pay for. No tax increases, balance the budget and don't touch MY favorite spending priorities, doesn't cut it. But then, "Reagan proved deficits don't matter, right Republicans?"
