Danes Stand up for Their Jewish Citizens

Hat tip Atlas Shrugs

I am cross-posting this article from Atlas Shrugs, which announces a march through the Norrobro section of Copenhagen February 23 to demand a halt to acts of anti-Semitism in Denmark.

Star"Today, we are all Jews"

Norrobro is heavily populated by Muslim immigrants, and riots have been common in recent years.

During World War II, among the occupied countries of Europe, Denmark distinguished itself by helping its Jews escape to Sweden. King Christian rode his horse through the streets of the Danish capital wearing a Jewish star. It seems today, that Denmark may be taking the lead in standing up for its Jews. Things have not been perfect in Denmark, but this event deserves support. Make no mistake; it is not the Danes who are persecuting Jews. It is the restive Muslim immigrants who are guilty. The individuals who engage in these lawless and hateful acts have no place in Danish society.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out on the 23rd. It would be great to see the residents of Norrobro turn out and join the march. I have a feeling they will turn out and do something else, however.

Turns out that the story of King Christian wearing the Star of David isn't true. However, as Snopes reports, it's "true in spirit" and doesn't detract from your overall point.
