Christmas in Bethlehem

Hat tip Israel Today

So how do Christians in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, celebrate Christmas? With much difficulty. The city is located in the West Bank and has a Palestinian Muslim majority.

Funny, those Palestinian Christians were among the most militant opponents of Israel, before rejection of The Zionist Entity became a jihad. Orthodox rabbis I've heard from now and then are entirely unsympathetic to their current plight, along the lines of, they made their bed, now they have to lie in it. Fighting Israel used to be a secular Arab national socialist cause, not an Islamic one. The CIA bears considerable blame for boosting Islamists as a counter-weight to both Arab national socialism AND communist influence.

(Yes, I know the historical provenance of national socialism -- don't think you're adding to the discussion by pointing it out. I choose my words quite deliberately.)
