Retired Admiral Speaks Out on Benghazi

Hat tip Hot Air and Gateway Pundit

Retired Admiral James Lyons has written an op-ed in the Washington Times. Like many of us, he can't understand why American military forces were not brought to bear from nearby Sigonella (Sicily) during the 7-hour attack in Benghazi that killed four American who were desperately calling for help.

As Admiral Lyons points out, our forces were more than willing. Who kept them from entering the battle?

Here is another point to ponder. General Carter Ham, the commander of Africom was reportedly relieved of duty as he was in the process of ignoring orders to stand down.

This can be cleared up by sworn testimony. We will not see any Senate hearings until November 15, and as long as the Democrats control the Senate, watch for Harry Reid to limit the damage. I suspect in the end, we are going to have to depend on inside whistle blowers to uncover this shameful episode-just as in Fast and Furious.
