DHS Stonewalls Questions over Mohamed Elibiary

DHS Head and 2010 Fousesquawk "Jerk of the Year" Janet Napolitano

If the Department of Homeland Security could secure our southern border and protect us from terrorists the way they protect themselves from critical inquiries, we would all be safe. What DHS under Janet Napolitano can do well is stonewall people like Patrick Poole of PJ Media. It has been weeks since Poole questioned the presence of Mohamed Elibiary inside the walls of DHS with access to their sensitive computers, which he has reportedly already abused. Below, via PJ Media, is an update from Poole, who is still trying to get his questions answered.

"Man the ramparts! It's PJ Media!"

Why should she pay any attention to PJ Media? My elementary school put out a paper that was better researched and better written. They are not journalists. They are an amateurish advocacy group trying to score brownie points.

As for "protecting our borders," the real numbers show great progress -- albeit this is probably due to high unemployment north of the border. With no jobs available, why bother to cross? Agents monitoring screens looking for incursions report "it's really quiet" more days than not. Holding cells that used to be full to bursting now sit empty, because the number of arrests are down 96%. That's with a five-fold increase in border patrol agents since 1993. A third of the border is fenced.

Either enforcement is working, or the threat is down. But you just can't let go of a horrific talking point. Stop crying wolf and go count what's going on at the border.
