The Royal Wedding

As you know, we here in the colonies are all jazzed up over the royal wedding coming to Britain on April 29. Barbara Walters is packing her bags to jet across the pond to interview all the Royal-watchers and  provide us with all the coverage. CNN has Richard Quest unshackled and  ready to call the blow-by-blow and maybe even model Princess Kate's wedding gown. Oh, it's all going to be so perfect. What could possibly go wrong?

(Heh heh).

The streets will all be lined with admirers to wish the happy couple...well, happiness.

Plenty of dignitaries like George Galloway will be on hand to bow and curtsy.

The commoners will dance and party into the night.

and the sumptuous food!

And, of course, the proud parents will ride to Westminster Abbey to the adoration of their subjects.

Coverage here in the colonies starts at 4 am. You don't want to miss it.

Well said Gary. I have an ancestor or two who helped drive the redcoats out. I have no intention of paying attention to which of King George's descendants are marrying who, even if we were allies in two world wars. After reading "Stilwell and the American Experience in China," it is darn difficult to understand how we made it through the war without coming to blows with the Brits. Or, as Gen. Stilwell wrote after getting a Chinese and Burman army into action against the Japanese "Will this burn the limeys!" (The limeys didn't want to see an colonials winning on the battlefield without British officers in command).

In later breaking news, Gary decides to uphold the sacred sanctity of the royal wedding because a handful of loud-mouthed advocates of a world wide caliphate want to protest against it.
