How CAIR Silences Critics

Aaron Proctor is a young journalist in Philadelphia, who has been writing for the Examiner.com. Apparently, his journalistic career was going quite smoothly-until he wrote something critical of CAIR and a banquet they were holding featuring another one of those "controversial" imams. That brought a letter to his employers from CAIR's Pennsylvania branch chief, Moein Khawaja.

The language in the CAIR letter from their boss, Khawaja contains a not-so-thinly veiled threat of legal action if the Examiner didn't fire Proctor. As a result, Proctor was suspended by the Examiner.

The latest deveopment is that Proctor has been re-instated by the Examiner. However, a stipulation is that he will write no further articles critical of CAIR. It appears that the two articles Proctor wrote have been pulled,

That's CAIR, folks.

Almost anyone could do that to the Examiner. Its the nature of their business model. They depend heavily on advertising, keep costs low, can't mess with lawsuit. In fact, most attorneys for most businesses would advise that its cheaper to settle than to stand up on principle. That's American business folks.

How Gary Fouse silences critics: just deletes their comments!

The Left Wing MSM lays down so easily for CAIR because they are soft on Muslims. They cave because they see the world in more or less the same way the Muslims do. They communicate the notion that Muslims are always innocent and being discriminated against unfairly and without reason.

The MSM can't or are unwilling to state the obvious. So they bury it or suspend any employee that comes too close to printing the truth.

In his book, Nineteen Eighty-Four, Orwell had the Party maintain 2 + 2 =5 as dogma one must believe.
He had his protagonist say, "Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows."

If the MSM put out enough smooth overs and apologies and everyone believes it... does that make it true?

Obviously, some believe it is.

MSM? Miggie, my good man, this company is run by Clarity Digital. I think the investors are a bunch of borderline Tea Party conservatives. They just don't want to have to defend any law suits. It would eat into their thin profit margin.

Clarity Digital is a Marketing company that doesn't even list the Examiner as a client.

As far as I know the Examiner is owned by Philip Anschutz. They take most of their major stories from the leads of the NY Times and the LA Times. The editorial staff and reporters, industry wide, are are primarily on the Left. The Examiner falls into the same category of politically correct left leaning MSM.
