The big news this week is that our vaunted State Department has sent a birthday greeting to none other than.....

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad!!

I suspect that through April 1940, the State Department DID send birthday greetings to Adolf Hitler. I'm reasonably certain that up through 1774, most of the thirteen American colonies sent birthday greetings to His Majesty, King George III. Have you checked whether Mahmoud received birthday greetings from the State Department in any previous year? 2007 perhaps? How about birthday greetings to Hussein al-Takriti in 1989, 1988, 1987, 1981...ermi
