Quote of the Day-Joe Biden, Of Course

"That's a big f----' deal."

Once again, Joe Biden has opened his big mouth and inserted foot. While outside Milwaukee on Friday to campaign for Russ Feingold and probably to pay his respects to county supervisor (and geography professor) Peggy West, Biden called a custard shop owner a "smart-ass" for asking him to lower taxes.

According to Fox, Biden had walked into the frozen custard shop to ask for an ice cream not knowing the shop sold frozen custard. (He probably wanted to cool off thinking he was in Arizona rather than Wisconsin.)

And this: "There's no possibility of restoring those 8 million jobs lost in the Great Recession."

Last seen, Biden was observed wandering the dustbowls of Wisconsin asking Peggy West for directions to Phoenix.

We don't have dustbowls in Wisconsin, we have the highest rate of job growth since the recession of any states, according to some statistical source or other featured in a recent edition of the local daily paper, which is as reliable as any other statistic anyone can bandy about. We also have more plentiful rainfall than the Great Plains (even with recent dry spells relative to the days before Global Warming), and our farming practices were ahead of the game long before Woody Guthrie, FDR, or even Calvin Coolidge. We had the LaFollettes, remember? We elected them over and over. That was before I was born.

Senator Feingold, who should consider this his last term in the senate, can probably get re-elected better without more visits from Biden, who has demonstrated many times over why he was never able to get past the first couple of primaries anytime he ran for president. In 2016, Feingold should either retire or run for president. In 2004, six percent of Wisconsin voters split their ticket between GWB and Feingold, to judge by the vote totals. The Republican candidate never saw it coming.
