Execution in Ohio

Darryl Durr
Ex-bad guy with an allergy

Here's a good one for all you death penalty foes. Serial rapist and murderer Darryl Durr was executed in Ohio yesterday for the kidnap, rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl. Durr's lawyers were arguing for a reprieve on the grounds that Durr would likely suffer a violent allergic reaction to the lethal injection.

Well, that argument didn't get far. After all, Ohio is not California, where a judge imposed a moratorium on all executions on the grounds that more study was needed to determine if the executee would "suffer pain" from the injection.

I'm not making this up, folks.

At any rate, everything went off without a hitch in Ohio. Durr did not suffer
a violent allergic reaction to the injection.

He did die, however.

There are too many of them.

I find it interesting that you're so pro-death penalty when you always have this "the government can't do anything right" stance on things. Yet you trust them with deciding on capital punishment?

With that said, I am not opposed to a guy like this getting killed. I do think that we should get rid of the death penalty though in general, as it's been proven that it's not sentenced fairly, and with the advent of DNA evidence, we have found innocent people to have been put on death row. (Even Sean Hannity has expressed that he's rethinking his position on the death penalty!)

I guess I'm in favor of it as an idea, but I do not trust the government to carry this out. Yeah, oftentimes they put down the mad dogs like this one, but so long as one innocent person gets killed, that's too much.

As for the whole "suffering pain" from the injection thing, why not just aim a cannon at his head? Trust me, he won't feel a thing. (It'll be a bit of a mess to clean up though.)
